I state it this way because it will require “our people” to educate themselves, get involved in business/community affairs and learn that if we aren’t proactive in preserving the values that made our country prosperous, our great nation will become the same as the many countries our people have emigrated from.

Latin Times Magazine: What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
Neftali: Surround yourself with other leaders that are more successful than you and place yourself in challenging, uncomfortable situations that force and encourage you to learn. The task force has afforded me the opportunity to connect with the community and participate in events and assist local groups within the community to promote animal welfare and encourage the adoption of shelter pets. We are constantly looking for news ways to connect with the community and bridge the gap between law enforcement and our youth.

In your industry what would you say separates you from your competition.
My mission statement about service before self resinates with me from my days of service in the military. Which in turn has become a strong core value in my law enforcement career. I also have an instant connection with our youth because of my hispanic heritage and how I was raised in the same environment that they were.

Why do you feel you were nominated?
I’m continuously working to strengthen the relationship between the a sheriff’s Office and the hispanic community. I make myself visible and transparent with the community. I feel people see that and respect it, which in turn develops trust and support.

During COVID-19, tell us about your biggest challenge/ obstacle and how you overcame it/ or are overcoming it ?
COVID-19 really posed a challenge, because the Sheriff’s mission to engage the community became difficult because of the inability to host events or hold presentations. We had to get creative, so we did. Using social media to connect and still send our message of support. Drop off and pick up points providing food, water, and PPE gear. Doing everything within our reach to provide essentials and information to help the community stay safe and get the assistance they need. Our biggest accomplishment was helping secure and operate Lee Counties vaccine site out at RSW. Bring a part of getting our elderly population and citizens at risk vaccinated was a major accomplishment. Especially getting the information out to the hispanic community.

Tell us about your biggest achievement and how you achieved it.
There are several that rank at the top of my list. The first achievement is that I’m the only member of my family to enlist and graduate basic training in the United States Marine Corps. I was also selected to join 8th & I Marine Barracks and execute ceremonial duties at the Pentagon and the White House all
while receiving a security clearance from the FBI. My twenty years of law enforcement experience has afforded me many opportunities and several promotions at a rapid pace. However, the past four years have really been rewarding. The ability to oversee the Animal Cruelty Task Force has been truly remarkable. Protecting animals, and arresting those individuals that chose to abuse them is truly rewarding. The only thing better, is taking one of these abused animals and turning them in to a spokes dog. Giving that animal a second chance and purpose. Helping us educate the community on animal abuse, and empowering the community to come together and protect anyone or anything from any type of abuse. This is the community relations side of the task force that is just as effective and important as the law enforcement side.

What is next from you? What can people expect to see from you?
I will continue to represent Sheriff Marceno and his mission to keep paradise safe and engage the community through positive interactions and presentations. Continue to grow as a leader and represent the hispanic community to the best of my ability.

What does being a U.S. Citizen mean to you.
I was born in the United States, and served my country in the United States Armed Force for nine years. And I continue the serve the community I live in. In defense and support of the constitution of the United States.

What words of encouragement can you offer.
“ People who are intimidated by you talk bad about you so others won’t find you so appealing. “

Is there anything I did not ask that you would like to share?
I’m truly honored and humbled by this nomination. And it is that much more important to me because the recognition is coming from my hispanic peers.

What is your comida Latina favorite?
My favorite comida would have to be ropa vieja with morro and platanos maduros.

YVETTE BENARROCH: 2023 Top Lideres Awards; SW Florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/yvette-benarroch-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/yvette-benarroch-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida#comments

CARMEN SALOME

ENTREPRENUER

FORD TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

FT MYERS CENTENNIAL PARK

HISPANIC HERITAGE

LATINO LIDERES AWARDS

LATIN TIMES MAGAZINE

LIDERES AWARDS

PATRIOT

PUERTO RICAN

SWFL

SW FLORIDA

TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

Hispanic Heritage Puerto RicanCity: Marco Island, FloridaProfession Small Business Owner Tell us what you do for a living and how you got into it.Yvette: My husband and I own a full-service landscaping company that serves the Naples-Marco Island Area. I decided to go back to school to take courses so that I could learn the trade and run the business successfully. I am certified in the fields of Horticulture, Arboriculture, Pest Control and Landscape Design. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would end up owning a landscaping business but here I am today, and I love it. We have 45 employees, serve over 500 customers, and make over $3.5 million in annual sales.

In your industry, what would you say separates you from your competition?
In my industry, what separates me from my competition is our focus on family, community service and providing exceptional customer service. In our business we take care of our employees and customers like family. As an Air Force Veteran and Rotarian my oath of service to my community and country has no expiration date so we make sure we support local nonprofits financially and/or by volunteering. Providing exceptional customer service by being responsive to inquiries and maintaining clear communication with our customers have helped us build strong customer loyalty and positive word of mouth referrals.

Why do you feel you were nominated?
I feel I was nominated because of my integrity, passion, dedication, servant heart and the impact and contributions I have made in my community. I have led hurricane relief efforts and food drives to help SW Florida community during Hurricane Irma and most recently Hurricane Ian, but I have also led efforts to help the people in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. I have always been front and center in helping others in times of need. This year the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International named me a Paul Harris Fellow in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world and Congressman Mario Diaz Balart entered my name into the Congressional Record in honor of Women’s History Month and recognizing my lifelong dedication toward serving my country and my community which has had a significant impact on Southwest Florida. Community service is my passion and even though I do it from the heart it feels good when someone recognizes it. It is truly an honor to be nominated for this award.

During Covid 19, tell us about your Biggest Challenge/obstacle and how you overcame it/or are overcoming it?
The biggest challenge/obstacle during Covid 19 was to be able to keep business open, employees healthy and our customers at ease while having to home school my two sons. I was able to successfully run my business and homeschool my sons during Covid 19 by staying organized, reenforcing health/safety procedures in the business and continuing to communicate effectively with our customers. I consider myself a strong and independent woman so in my opinion that has helped me overcome challenges throughout my life. I have always looked at challenges as learning experiences that have helped build my character and have made me the strong woman that I am today.

Tell us about your biggest achievement, and how you achieved it.
I moved to Florida 20 years ago from Puerto Rico. I came here with just a suitcase filled with hopes and dreams. Today I can say I am living my American Dream. Only in this country you can come with nothing and make something out of yourself if you are willing to work for it. My faith in God, my family and my strong work ethics have helped get to where I am today. I hope I can inspire others to never give up on their dreams. Dreams will come true if you believe and work towards them. From working two jobs to survive to being a successful business owner, I am proud to say that I made it!

What is next for you? What can people expect to see from you?
I am excited to announce that I am running for the Florida House of Representatives in District 81. I have been a grassroots and community leader for many years, and I am now ready to take my fight to the Florida House. As an American of Hispanic heritage, I see the challenges our community is facing, as a mom I see the challenges our children are facing, as an Air Force Veteran I see the challenges our veterans are facing and as a business owner I see the challenges our small businesses are facing so I am running to give them all a voice in the Florida House. People can expect me to continue to serve and fight for my community, my state, and my country.

What does being a U.S. Citizen mean to you?
I consider my American Citizenship a blessing. I am proud to be an American of Hispanic heritage and will serve and fight for this country until the day I take my last breath. As a Puerto Rican I know how blessed we are to be American Citizens by birth. As an Air Force Veteran, I know my oath of service has no expiration date. The United States of America with all its imperfections it still the greatest country in the world.

What is your opinion of the state of affairs in our nation? And what role do you see Hispanics/Latinos playing in the future of our nation.
The direction our country is taking goes against the principles our country was founded on. We need more God and less Government because our life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are at stake. I see Hispanics/Latinos playing a crucial role in the future of our nation. As the fastest growing minority group in the United States, Hispanics/Latinos will continue to decide elections. It is important for Hispanics/Latinos to get involved in the political process, go out and vote and become leaders in the political and civic arenas. We need to have a bigger voice and in order to do that we need to make sure our community gets involved in the political process. Since 2018 I have been doing Hispanic/Latino Community Outreach throughout the state, educating Hispanics/Latinos about the political process and the importance of getting involved. During the 2022 Election I was part of the team that helped Governor DeSantis get record numbers of the Hispanic/Latino Vote. As someone of Puerto Rican heritage I am proud of the work we did with the Puerto Rican community that resulted in 53% of the vote to re-elect Governor DeSantis. I believe is about people and their issues and not about politics and self-serving politicians.

What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
The best lesson I have learned in leadership is the importance of leading by example. When a leader sets a positive example through their actions, behaviors, and work ethic, it can have a profound impact on their team and organizational culture. Leading by example involves demonstrating the values, principles, and work standards that you expect from your team members. This has helped me earn the respect and trust of my team, inspire, and motivate others, build a positive culture, and mentor and develop future leaders. Overall, leading by example is a powerful leadership approach that has made a significant difference in my career, success of the team and in my life.

Is there anything I did not ask that you would like to share?
As an American of Hispanic Heritage, Air Force Veteran, Mom, Small Business Owner, Rotarian, Community Leader, and Candidate for the Florida House it is an honor to be nominated for this award. I appreciate all the work you do to recognize Latino Leaders in our community because with your help we are able to highlight the great work we do and the important role we play in our communities.

What is your comida Latina favorita?
My comida Latina favorita is Asopao de langosta con Mofongo.

YISBEL BERA DAMIRON; 2023 Top Lideres Awards: SW Florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/yisbel-bera-damiron-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/yisbel-bera-damiron-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida#comments

CARMEN SALOME

DOMINICAN

ENTREPRENUER

FORD TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

HISPANIC HERITAGE

LATINO LIDERES AWARDS

LIDERES AWARDS

SWFL

SW FLORIDA

TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

What is your Hispanic Heritage?Dominican Republic, Santo DomingoWhat area of Florida do you live in?SWFL/Cape Coral, FLWhat is your profession? I have a bachelor degree in Business Management & Marketing. Over my career, I have held various roles including classroom teacher, coach, dean, assistant principal, high school principal and district administrator. In my current role, I serve as the Chief of Staff for The School District of Lee County. In this position, I provide leadership and guidance to the senior leadership team on critical projects and initiatives supporting our vision of being a world-class school system. My passion for education began during my freshman year of college when I took an introduction to school programs course. A requirement of that course included an internship at a local high school. It was during that internship that I developed a deep connection to the classroom and the impact I felt I could have on the lives of students. I saw myself in so many of the students I worked with. It was during that Fall of 1995 that I felt the calling to the field of education.

Latin Times Magazine: In your industry, what would you say separates you from your competition
Michael: My passion for people and the ability to bring people together. The mission is to empower Latino youth to lead and strengthen their communities through college and career readiness. I was introduced to LIA during a 2015 conference in Provo, Utah where I met Dr. Jose Enriquez, Founder Chief Executive Officer of LIA. We connected and discussed bringing the program to Florida. As a Call to Action for school district, honoring the 25th anniversary of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, I drafted a district commitment proposal to bring LIA to Florida. We began LIA in 6 high schools in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The program grew the following year and I began to share the work and academic data with other school district leaders across the state. This collaboration resulted the program growing across the state to districts including Hillsborough, Lee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Polk and many more. I am proud that today, LIA is offered in over 100+ schools across the state of Florida and the impact the program has had on the lives of thousands of young people is something that I am most proud.

Latin Times Magazine: What is next for you? What can people expect to see from you?
Michael: My immediate next is to continue to grow as a leader looking for ways to expand on the opportunities and programs we offer students, as well as pushing our district to live out our mission of ensuring each student achieves his/her highest personal potential. I have career aspirations of becoming a Superintendent in a Florida school district however, until that time comes I will remain steadfast in my commitment to the students and community of Lee county.

Latin Times Magazine: What does being a U.S. Citizen mean to you?
Michael: I take tremendous pride in being a citizen in the greatest country in the world, the United States of America. For me, it means opportunity. The opportunities afforded in our country are limitless if you are willing to work hard, sacrifice and commit yourself to a goal.

Latin Times Magazine: What is your opinion of the state of affairs in our nation? And what role do you see Hispanics/Latinos playing in the future of our nation.
Michael: In a time where our country appears to be on polar opposites on almost every issue, I believe there is a growing spirit and desire to come together for the greater good of all people. I am an eternal optimist and will always choose to believe in the best in people, even when I do not see it. While there is such a focus on our differences, I believe that when people actually take the time to listen to each other, there is so much more they have in common than different. As the growth of Hispanics/Latinos continues in our country, I believe that it is important for the Hispanic communities to find their voice and elevate them in the places and spaces that can make a difference for our country.

Latin Times Magazine: What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
Michaeal: The best lesson that I have learned in leadership is quite a simple one, treat people the way you want to be treated. Leadership is a people business and we must never forget that above anything else. My approach in treating people in this manner has allowed me to thrive in the positions I have held over the course of my career. At the end of my career, I want to be known as a leader who truly cared about the people he worked with and for.

Latin Times Magazine: Is there anything I didn’t ask that you would like to share?
The only other thing that I would share is that my success has always been grounded in my core values of faith and family. My story begins at home, born and raised by two incredible Puerto Rican parents that raised me and my brothers and sisters to be honest, respectful and always put family first. Ahead of anything else, I am a husband, dad, son and brother. I am blessed to be married to an incredible wife, Danielle and together we have two beautiful girls, Mia Grace and Brianna Joy. They are my biggest cheerleaders.

Latin Times Magazine: What is YOUR comida Latina favorita?
Nothing better than arroz con gandules y pernil

OSCAR RUGIERO; 2023 Top Lideres Awards: SW Florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/oscar-rugiero-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/oscar-rugiero-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida#comments

ARGENTINA

CAPE CORAL

FORD TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

HISPANIC HERITAGE

JOURNALIST

LATINO LIDERES AWARDS

LATIN TIMES MAGAZINE

LIDERES AWARDS

SILVIA BEATRIZ DIEZ

SWFL

SW FLORIDA

TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

What is your Hispanic Heritage? Oscar: ArgentinoWhat area of Florida do you live in? Cape CoralWhat is your profession? TV ProducerTell us about what you do for a living and how you got into itOscar: I am a television producer. And we do it with quality, our multicultural team works with dedication to reach the highest standards of production, recording and editing.

Latin Times Magazine: Why do you feel you were nominated
Oscar: I believe that the Hispanic community is going through a positive change and my nomination reflects that. We are the most entrepreneurial group, we need to start perceiving ourselves as such. There are things to improve and work is being done on it: we need to streamline procedures, have bilingual offices and better access to credit.

Latin Times Magazine: What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
Oscar: I learned that you can always be creative to find solutions, that flexibility is a plus. Our Latin DNA is ingenious. I feel that from the moment we leave our hometown to come to a new country, not knowing the culture or the language, it can be a traumatic experience. Especially, if there is no family support system.

Why do you feel you were nominated?
I was nominated because I am committed and passionate to our Lee County community. I am focused on building strong collaborative relationships with community leaders. While serving God, my mission is to continue our quest of equality for all of Gods Children.

During COVID-19, tell us about your Biggest Challenge/obstacle and how you overcame it/or are overcoming it?
During COVID-19 we did not stop working. Our ladies who are part of the Healing Stitches group, they were helping from home making masks. We were able to make over 10,000 masks that were provided to the Lee County community residents. We went to the shelters, and underserved communities to prevent spreading the COVID-19. We were able to provide masks to the Immokalee city in Collier County for migrant population as-well. It was a great project because volunteer women from the Pine Island community were able to participate in this community project. We encountered residents that refused the masks stating that this was a political issue, and that the COVID-19 was not real.

Tell us about your biggest achievement, and how you achieved it?
I have four children, and knowing that they are successful, and contributing men, and woman in our society, has been my greatest achievement. Teaching them the values of citizenship in a country that was foreign to me. I taught them are not entitled, but to work and help others in need. For me my children are my HEROES! I have been married for 41 years, and my husband has been a great supporter, and very patient with anything I have done, as well as my children.

What is next for you? What can people expect to see from you?
My biggest dream has been to open a shelter for the Latino women that have been victims of any crime, as well-as victims of sex trafficked. My dream is to provide them with safe housing where they can free themselves from their traumas through our Healing Stitches Therapeutic, and vocational program. Empowering the victims to become Economically Self-sufficient, Self-independent, and to learn to use their voices.

What does being a U.S. Citizen mean to you?
As a Naturalized US Citizen, this question will probably have a different meaning than a Natural Born Citizen.

Being a Naturalized US Citizen is a gift given to me because of my hard work, faith, and perseverance! It was a second opportunity at LIFE; yes, at LIFE! A life that as a child I did not imagine I would have OR that it even existed. A life that was triggered by my parent’s decision to immigrate to the United States of America seeking a better life for their family – what a wonderful decision they made!

It means being a part of a BIG community which allows each individual to carve their own fate, their own way. Many times, paved with obstacles and hurdles which were not expected, but through the work ethic instilled by my parents, family support and my faith, I knew I could overcome – and I did!

The biggest realization of that Second chance at Life came in two ways.

First to have a family and raise them giving them the same sense of community, hard work and most of all empathy for their fellow neighbor. A sense of duty to this amazing country!

Second, to fulfil my dream of getting involved in helping others. My Social Work career has allowed me to see many sides of Human need and meet some extraordinary people along the way. It gave me direction to establish a Community Organization (OILE) geared to helping those who need it most, many times during the most vulnerable stage of their lives.

I am a Naturalized US Citizen striving to contribute to this BIG community that has given me and my family so many blessings!

What is your opinion of the state of affairs in our nation? And what role do you see Hispanics/Latinos playing in the future of our nation?
Any public official that was voted in by the PEOPLE, should conduct themselves with integrity, moral values, trustworthiness, respectful, responsible, and advocating for the well-being of their communities.

Many Latinos/Hispanics are undocumented, or not they are becoming entrepreneurs, building their own business, and at the same time we are consumers. I feel that WE came to this country seeking better life opportunities.

What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
I learned from one of my clients that her two underage daughters were trafficked by a family member in another country. I had that opportunity to turn my head and pretend that I did not hear what I heard or do something about. The greatest thing that I learned at the moment, was communicating and collaborating with other community-based agencies to be able to rescue these innocent girls from trafficking. Life is a learning process, and I feel that we never stop learning, especially serving the public. At this time, I am committed in passing and providing education to our undocumented population to “Know Your Rights.”

Is there anything I didn’t ask that you would like to share?
I would love to continue building a strong Social Services agency, to service not just our Latino community, but every Lee County resident and surroundings counties.

What is YOUR comida Latina favorita?
Mole de Oya was one of my mom’s specialty dishes. It was a dish made from scratch. Mom prepared all the condiments, toasted the chiles and seeds, blended all the spices, and made the mole from scratch. It obtained a tangerine color and when it was ready, she added the boiled vegetables, zucchini, green beans, chayote, and the cooked meat. She also made yellow-rice that accompanies this dish, and I can taste it at this moment just by talking about it! She had many delicious dishes, but this was the most elaborate and unique dish.

LIZ BELLO-MATTHEWS; 2023 Top Lideres Awards; SW Florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/liz-bello-matthews-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/liz-bello-matthews-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida#comments

CITY OF FT. Going in to work every day not knowing if I was going to bring back home the virus. The uncertainty of not really knowing if we were going to lose a family member or a friend. But I always kept my faith and I truly believe that we all came out better human being afterwards.

Latin Times Magazine: Tell us about your biggest achievement, and how you achieved it
Dee Dominguez: I have many achievements in my life! I was a teen mother at the age of 15 and I was told that I would never amount to anything. The mere fact that I am being nominated for this prestigious award speaks volumes to what any human being can accomplish if they set their mind to it.

I was a kid from the projects who’s mother lived of welfare and section eight and today I have 3 grown children eight grandchildren. My husband (of 29 years) and I have managed to “beat the odds” and I will never stop achieving whatever goals I set for myself.

Latin Times Magazine: What is next for you? What can people expect to see from you?
Dee Dominguez: The sky is the limit! My husband and I have projects in the works. I plan to continue growing my organization so that I can help more teen parents in our community. I am continuing my education in Nursing, and I want to make a difference in the school system in Lee county.

Latin Times Magazine: What does being a U.S. Citizen mean to you?
Dee Dominguez: Being a U.S. Citizen means opportunity. The opportunity to brake negative generational cycles, the opportunity to grow and the opportunity to leave a legacy to my grandchildren and the generations to come.

Latin Times Magazine: What is your opinion of the state of affairs in our nation? And what role do you see Hispanics/Latinos playing in the future of our nation.
Dee Dominguez: As a Latina mother, grandmother, tia, madrina etc. I would like to see more representation in all aspects of politics, education and social media in a positive way. Let’s celebrated our cultural diversity in ways that will represent us as we are! Beautiful and colorful but also intelligent and with lots of opinions and a lot to offer. Education is key and we need to get better educated with currents events so that we are able to make I formed decisions. We need to go out and vote during election so that we have a voice!

Latin Times Magazine: What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
Dee Dominguez: The biggest lesson I have learned is that I can’t do things by myself. As a Latina we often don’t want to ask for help (that is part of those negative generational costumes I mentioned earlier) As a leader you need a team, people that share your passion and your drive. In my nonprofit one of the main quotes is “It takes a Village”! I believe no one person should have to do anything alone when it comes to leadership you need your “village”

Latin Times Magazine: Is there anything I didn’t ask that you would like to share?
Dee Dominguez: I want to thank you for this opportunity and It is a privilege just to be considered for this award.

Latin Times Magazine: What is YOUR comida Latina favorita?
Dee Dominguez: I am a self-proclaimed Foodie! But as a true Dominican I LOVE Arroz blanco con habichuelas y carene (White rice, beans, meat). But in Dominican Republic we have something called LOCRIO. A locrio can be made of any meat, but my favorite is El Locrio de Cerdo. My grandmother made the best and I have taken the role in our family of making this dish. I was left to figure it out on my own. I knew that I couldn't be the only one having this struggle, so I sought out resources and that is how my career as a Financial Literacy Educator began. In May of 2020 the primary company I partnered with was shut down and I was left to figure out what to do until their systems were back up and running. This is when I was introduced to the world of renewable energy and residential solar. I was never a fan but like most, I made a judgment based on something I actually knew nothing about. As I learned about how this was actually tied into my work as a Financial Literacy Educator I was hooked. Being able to offer individuals of my community information to make informed decisions on things that could enhance their life and well-being is part of my mission. I've always made it a point to use life experiences to guide me in supporting and educating others. In 2019 I decided to become a public figure in the world of HIV/AIDS. I would attend events, be a speaker and volunteer at events to educate and test. I never pictured myself doing any of the things I currently do but I can't picture my life without it. You see back in 2016, I was diagnosed as HIV positive, and it took deep depression, an attempt to end my own life to realize I had a lot of work within myself to do. That's when I made the decision to create the life I wanted, not the life society said i deserved.

Latin Times Magazine: In your industry, what would you say separates you from your competition.
I would say what separates me is that I am authentic and transparent. Now today, at the time of this writing, I feel like I am living my own version of quarantine as I help care for a sick family member. I would say one of my biggest challenges during the peak of Covid is that so many people got to “rest or take it easy” and i was still out in the field daily and it was certainly at a time where i was doing more than i had to give but i knew that it just wasn't my time to sit down. Since 2014 I have always worked in a public facing role and I have always been the girl who was always on the go. I had such a passion to serve my community but at the time of Covid it was certainly catching up with me and my now compromised immune system.

Latin Times Magazine: Tell us about your biggest achievement, and how you achieved it
There are many things in my life I can be proud of. I sometimes look at my life and am in awe. While i don't have many riches and the glory of fancy cars etc, my biggest accomplishment is that I live life on my terms. After attempting suicide in 2016 I really had to look at my life and all the insecurities that lived inside me that limited the heights I could reach. Every day I work to be kind to myself, to speak positively into myself and to be inspired to make the most of life because it has so much to offer. I believe I have experienced so much turmoil in my life that was connected to things that made me who I am that to be able to just live as my authentic self is truly a beautiful thing and something I would have to say is my greatest achievement.

Latin Times Magazine: What is next for you? So much of my daily work is connected to the Real Estate Industry that to give clients top quality service I feel it makes sense for me to be a realtor. Not even top-quality service but the comfort of knowing they can work with me from beginning to end. From understanding how credit is impacted, what they can do to fix and build their credit, budget and properly save to qualify for a home, to then house hunt and find what fits their needs and the needs of their family. Then once they find that home I can guide them through obtaining solar panels and understand what options are available as well as what makes the most sense for their financial situation and economical needs, to be fully energy independent or not, to finance or lease etc.

I was also recently recognized as a Powerful Women in SWFL so I’m excited to announce that I am co-authoring a book with other ladies in SWFL! I have the ability to wake up and create my dream life in the chosen industries I am in which with work, consistency and commitment allow me to change the lives in my family for generations to come.

Latin Times Magazine: What is your opinion of the state of affairs in our nation? And what role do you see Hispanics/Latinos playing in the future of our nation?
I have never been a political person but I stand firm on right and wrong. As a new Christian I believe our mission as people is to Love people as they are. Controlling a woman's body, or refusing a service to someone because they identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community in my opinion is disgusting. I think we have so much more that we could be focusing on besides who someone chooses to love and how someone came into this country. If you are in this country and are aiding in building our economy, aren't bringing things to hurt people, then what does it matter how you got here? A Nation that is supposed to be united yet there is so much division. While I am proud of the opportunities I have here, there are so many things in our country that sadden me.

Latin Times Magazine: What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership and how has it helped your career?
In leadership, my biggest lesson is that you cant lead people who do not want to be led, and it all starts with leading yourself. If you can lead yourself, and show what your discipline has awarded often times people will be attracted to that, but as a leader it is then up to us to show them how their current reality, struggle and all, does not have to be their future.

◦Latin Times Magazine: Is there anything I didn’t ask that you would like to share?
I would love to share about my very first trip to Puerto Rico! It was for my 30th birthday. For years I wanted to visit with my mother but she didnt want to go, finally i said i am going for my 30th and you can come celebrate or stay. Thank God she came along with 15 family members and close friends. It was peace like i have never felt before, and until this day i have yet to feel that anywhere beside Puerto Rico. My heart knows that La Isla is home. This is the trip where I saw my Tio who was also my Padrino for the last time, before he lost his battle to Covid. I had dreamed about what visiting would be like and it was beyond my wildest imagination. If you want to know who Spanish people are at their core, visit them in their environment, their element. The most humble, sweet, caring people you could ever meet come from the Hispanic Community. For so long I struggled in my identity as a Latina Women and I learned that its not about how you speak spanish, or what you can cook, its about the love in your heart and how you share that with others. I am a Latin through and through and I am honored and blessed to wave my Boricua Bandera for all Latinos.

Latin Times Magazine: What is YOUR comida Latina favorita?
Oh gosh this is not a fair question! I am such a foodie, I love food and trying new things, but I do love frituras ! If its an Alcapurria YES, a Colombian Empanada YES, a Papusa YES, tostones con ajo YES, mangu con los golpes YES and if it has a side of materva, horchata, coquito or morir sonando YES YES YES! Oh and can we add a side of ceviche?! Or some chips y guacamole! What about a plate of Lomo Saltado?! Oh and theres nothing like a hot sancocho or afe con leche to soothe all my stress away…. Ok i think im done lol

PEDRO GONZALEZ; 2023 Top Lideres Awards: SW Florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/pedro-gonzalez-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida

https://www.latintimesmedia.com/latintimesmedia-blog/pedro-gonzalez-2023-top-lideres-awards-sw-florida#comments

CHRISTIAN LEADER

FORD TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

FT MYERS

JOLIE G PADILLA

KINGS MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP

LATINO LIDERES AWARDS

LATIN TIMES MAGAZINE

LIDERES AWARDS

Louis Capdevila

PASTOR

SWFL

SW FLORIDA

TASTE OF LATINO FESTIVAL

VICTOR PADILLA

Co-Chairman, The King's Ministries International FellowshipPedro and Raquel Gonzalez have been planting churches in the Caribbean Islands, Central America, South America, and Haiti for years. Apostles/Prophets Pedro and Raquel has planted various churches in Cuba, Haiti, Chile,Bolivia and also in Colombia. Currently engaged in The Kingdom Training Center with a major emphasis on the Kingdom and also The scho [...]

 				<td class="wsite-multicol-col" style="width:51.612903225806%;
