Yvette: My husband and I own a full-service landscaping company that serves the Naples-Marco Island Area. I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, so the plan was to use those skills to help the business grow. Little did I know that God had other plans for us. In 2009 My husband was diagnosed with Stage Four Colon Cancer, and I had to run the business on my own while he was going through surgeries and chemotherapy treatments.

Mr. Ken Amaro was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands. His father and grandparents were born on the island of Puerto Rico, more specifically Culebra.

Mr. Amaro attended Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida, where he earned a BBA in 1980. He worked as an Anchor/Reporter at First Coast News from 1979 until his retirement in 2021.

Well known for his “On Your Side” consumer reports, Ken worked tirelessly for the consumer by uncovering scams, rip-offs, and swindles.

Ivette Galarza: Ivette was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Puerto Rican parents. Her mom and dad were both from Moca, PR. At a young age Ivette watched her mother with a 7th grade educational level advocate on behalf of a community of tenants that were at the verge of being evicted. Ivette firmly believes that watching her mother walk through this multi-year journey is what birthed the passion within her to dedicate 27 years of her life to working on behalf of vulnerable children, families and communities.

Aniria: I live in Valrico, FL. I was born in El Salvador to a Salvadoran father and a Puerto Rican grandmother. I was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, and my parents moved to Florida when I was 6. They came to Gainesville to pursue their Master’s and PhD’s at the University of Florida.
