LTM: Tell us about what you do for a living and how you got into it.
I am an entrepreneur, and my business, Bloom and Blossom Social Hub focuses on social media marketing and branding. I also have a background in nonprofit strategic planning, events, and fundraising, which I incorporate into my business.
My marketing journey began through multi-level network marketing (MLM). Using my platform for sales in MLM taught me how to leverage social media for marketing purposes. Someone noticed my talent and asked if I could help them with their social media, which sparked the idea of turning it into a business opportunity.
With a degree in communications, stepping into the marketing world made sense. I then began integrating my experience in nonprofits, which opened doors in that sector as well. Over time, I fell in love with the ability to help brands, nonprofits, and businesses shine in the digital space, making a meaningful impact along the way.
LTM: In your industry, what would you say separates you from your competition?
What separates me from the competition is something that may be considered unconventional—my faith. While some see faith as a limitation in business, I see it as my greatest strength. I wouldn’t be where I am today without God, and my company, Bloom and Blossom Social Hub, was born out of a prophetic word revealed to me in 2019. Because of that, I operate with the confidence that God will continue to provide. My niche naturally attracts other believers, creating a space where we can support and uplift one another, making competition irrelevant.
Beyond faith, my deep understanding of the nonprofit world sets me apart. Many aspects of networking, fundraising, and strategic planning common in the nonprofit sector can also be leveraged in the for-profit space. My ability to blend these worlds gives my clients a unique edge, helping them incorporate community-driven and purpose-led strategies into their businesses.
LTM: Why do you feel you were nominated?
I believe I was nominated because fellow leaders in the community recognize my heart for service. I am deeply committed to giving back and making an impact. I actively serve on various nonprofit boards in my county that support women rejoining the workforce, provide CNA scholarships, and assist individuals in need with essentials.
My personal motto has always been: "If I am able, I am willing." I believe that those who refresh others will be refreshed in return. Helping others is not just something I do—it’s a core value. I think my peers have recognized this commitment, and I am truly honored to be nominated for this award.
LTM: During COVID-19, what was your biggest challenge/obstacle, and how did you overcome it?
I didn’t overcome my biggest challenge during COVID-19 at the time, but I am overcoming it every day now. During the pandemic, one of my multi-level marketing businesses really started to take off. It was a blessing to work from my phone and maintain a steady income during such uncertainty. Things were going well until a team member, who was also earning at a high level, decided to leave. Looking back, I now see that my mindset wasn’t yet developed enough to handle that kind of disappointment. Instead of pivoting, I let the fear of losing her and the team she built paralyze me.
At that moment, I didn’t overcome it. But today, I am stronger and wiser. I’ve learned to manage disappointments with resilience, shift my perspective, and pivot as often as necessary. This experience has shaped me into the entrepreneur I am now, and I carry that lesson into every aspect of my business and life.
LTM: What is your biggest achievement in business or personal life, and how did you achieve it?
My biggest achievement in business is having the faith to step out and work for myself full-time over the past year. This decision was a leap of faith, but it has brought me so much joy and fulfillment. I am incredibly proud of what I’ve been able to build, the capacity God has given me, and the knowledge and skills I continue to develop every day.
This journey has allowed me to make an impact in my community, grow as an entrepreneur, and create a legacy for my children—something that is truly mine to pass down to them. It has been a challenging yet rewarding path, and I am grateful for every lesson along the way.
LTM: What is next for you? What can people expect to see from you?
What’s next for me is developing a strategic plan to launch my nonprofit focused on helping families.
As a teen mom, one of my biggest struggles was achieving financial stability for my son. I often worked multiple jobs but lacked the financial literacy to truly get ahead. That experience has fueled my passion for helping families facing financial hardships. My goal is to provide tangible financial relief—whether it’s covering a past-due electric bill, assisting with tuition, helping with car insurance, or simply easing the burden for families in need.
Beyond financial assistance, I also want to offer financial literacy education because you don’t know what you don’t know—and when you learn better, you do better. In the coming year, you can expect to see me positioning myself in this space to bring this vision to life. I am incredibly grateful for the resources in my community that have supported me, and I want to pay it forward by helping others.
LTM: What does being a U.S. citizen mean to you?
Being a U.S. citizen means having the ability to make choices and the freedom to grow and pursue opportunities in any area I choose. I live in a country and a community where we have freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and we have access to opportunities that empower us—if we choose to tap into them.
I feel truly blessed to have these freedoms and the ability to build a future, create change, and make an impact in both my life and my community.
LTM: Who is your role model in life and why?
My role model is Esther from the Bible because of her courage, faith, and willingness to step into her calling even when the odds were against her. Like Esther, I believe in being obedient to God’s plan and using my influence to help others and make an impact.
Her story has inspired me to trust that God has a purpose for everything, and that when we walk in faith and obedience, we are able to fulfill the calling placed on our lives.
LTM: What is the best lesson that you have learned in leadership, and how has it helped your career?
The best lesson I have learned in leadership is to pick my battles wisely and understand that people’s responses are often a reflection of them, not of me. Leadership requires diplomacy—the ability to navigate situations with grace, patience, and emotional intelligence. It’s not about avoiding confrontation but about recognizing when to engage when to listen, and when to step back.
This lesson has greatly helped my career by allowing me to stay open to learning, remain humble in the face of challenges, and build meaningful relationships. It has also opened doors for opportunities, as people are more receptive when you lead with understanding rather than reaction. This mindset has made me a more effective leader, communicator, and problem solver, both in business and in life.
LTM: What is your favorite comida Latina?
It’s so difficult to choose just one because there are so many delicious Latin dishes that I enjoy! But if I had to pick, I’d go with bandeja paisa—even though I’m not from MedellÃn.
What I love about bandeja paisa is that it offers so many components in one dish, allowing you to sample a little bit of everything. From the rice, beans, and plantains to the chicharrón, arepa, and egg, every bite is a combination of flavors and textures that make it truly satisfying. It’s a dish that feels like a complete experience, and that’s why it’s definitely my favorite!
